Description
The Lota or Kalash is a traditional round metal pot widely used in Hindu religious practices. Typically filled with Gangajal, clean water, or milk, the Lota plays a significant role in various rituals like abhishek, sankalp, jal arpan, and Kalash Sthapana during Navratri, Ganesh Chaturthi, weddings, and housewarming (Griha Pravesh) ceremonies.
The Kalash symbolizes prosperity, wisdom, and positive energy. It is often adorned with mango leaves and a coconut during major rituals, representing the five elements of nature. Lota made from brass, copper, or stainless steel is considered ideal due to its spiritual conductivity.
